Tis’ the Season to be Jolly!

We’ve put together a list of activities you and the family can enjoy over this festive period!

Alpaca Treks at Beirhope Farm

Throughout the month of December, Beirhope Farm are hosting festive alpaca treks! A fun opportunity to meet and feed the alpacas, enjoy a trek in the countryside and warm up afterwards with hot chocolate and cookies in the barn. Make sure you book a spot not to miss out!

Castle of Light at Edinburgh Castle

Running throughout the festive period, Historic Scotland and Edinburgh Castle invite you to an exciting lighting installation – Castle of Light. This event will see the famous landmark illuminated with stunning visuals of its own history. We are sure this will be an unforgettable experience!

Abbotsford House Christmas Fair

Abbotsford House are holding a whole host of events this Christmas! From a Festive Family Fair, an evening of Christmas shopping, to a Carol Service filled with mince pies and festive drinks!

Exciting news! The Visitor Centre at Abbotsford House will now be stocking a collection of Wonky Woolies!

Alnwick Garden Winter Light Trail

Make your way to Alnwick Gardens after dark for the Winter Light Trail! Running from 13th December – 22nd December, explore the gardens and watch the castle come to life with sound and light!

Christmas at Born in the Borders

As well as skating on the ice rink and sledging (although we can’t promise snow!) Born in the Borders have set up a magical Illuminated Forest Walk! There are also Christmas Afternoon Teas and the Lilliard Gin Distillery Tour and Tasting has become all festive too!

Spectacle of Light at Dalkeith Country Park

Opening on 7th December and running through until January is the Spectacle of Light. This event sees Fort Douglas, the massive wooden fortress, beautifully lighten up! Wander around the park, enjoying the music while sipping on some mulled wine or hot chocolate! Toast marshmallows by the fire pit or warm up with some delicious food from the Restoration Yard.

The Festive Fling at Kelso Racecourse

Head down to track on Sunday 29th December, as Kelso Racecourse are throwing the Festive Fling! If you’ve had more than your fair share of chocolate cooped up over the Christmas holidays, this is the perfect opportunity to get out and grab some fresh air! Gates open at 10:00am.
