What is Custom Design?

Custom design hats are part of our bespoke one-to-one service. The custom-make process enables you to bring your idea to us, then we discuss the options together and our team design a digital version to show you how it will look. When we are all happy it will work, we’ll book your order into our workshop and start knitting.

What can I change?

  1. Pompom – choose the colour, you can include up to 16 colours.
  2. Logo – have your brand or logo knit into the hat.
  3. Base colour – choose this colour from our chart.
  4. Turn-up colour – select your favourite colour.
  5. Fibre – decide if you would like to use wool or yarn.
  6. Label – create a customised woven label to have sewn on.

Confirm the design and pay in advance.

We then knit your custom design hat within 7 days. During winter months this process takes longer.

Feedback / Approval

You receive the custom-made hat; you love it and contact us to book your batch production.

Payment is taken in advance and scheduled into production.

We specialise in replicating logos and hand sketched patterns or characters. We can also include diverse graphics and various styles of font.

Yes, after a sample is produced the minimum order for wholesale prices is 5 units per fibre and design.

Yes, we accommodate large orders. We will discuss a suitable production timescale to fit within your brief.

Yes, sizes must be confirmed before proceeding with any design as this will affect the pattern. The minimum number of hats per size is 5 units.

You can choose up to 5 colours in one hat design.

No, we don’t make labels but we can sew them on as an additional service.

We work with merino wool, Shetland wool, soft lambswool and cashmilon acrylic yarn. Click here to explore the benefits and properties of each fibre.

Prices vary between fibres. Samples start from £46.80 for a simple design made in cashmilon acrylic yarn up to a £84 for a complex design made with merino wool. Thereafter, we have 3 price brackets for batch orders with a minimum order of 5 hats.

Outwith November and December and once payment is confirmed, we aim to have your sample hat ready within 7 working days. During the Christmas season, sampling will take longer.  We urge any new customers to enquire and complete sampling by October at the latest to avoid disappointment.

For batch orders, the turnaround time depends on the quantity of your order. This will be finalised after your sample is received, your batch order is placed and payment has been made.

All samples are packaged safely inside a Wonky Woolies branded gift box.

Batch orders are securely shipped in larger boxes with a protective layer. Individual packaging can be done upon request.

Delivery is not included in our prices.

We always use a next day delivery service for batch orders, which are fully insured.

All wholesale prices are excluding VAT.

Children’s sized products are exempt from VAT.
