All Things Autumnal.
Tuesday 22nd September was the Autumn Equinox – where the day and night were of equal length and therefore, marking the first day of Autumn.
This is our favourite season, when the leaves start to turn and the whole landscape changes colours! At Wonky Woolies, we love nothing more than pulling on our coats, layering up and getting cosy!
In this blog post we’re highlighting our top Autumnal picks for the new season! Check them out below:
Argyle Storm
Inspired by the traditional Scottish pattern of the same name, our Argyle Storm hat is knit with complimentary shades of rust, black, and charcoal grey Shetland wool. Wool is a hardy fibre – perfect for keeping you warm and dry when the temperature starts to change!
Ettrick Frozen
Inspired by the extreme freeze we experienced last year in the Scottish Borders, which caused the river to freeze over, the Ettrick Frozen is knit with cool shades of blue. This colour palette is a lovely contrast to the golden tones of Autumn.
Coorie
From the Scots word ‘Coorie‘ meaning to cuddle in, this Merino hat will certainly keep you warm on a crisp, Autumn day. Merino wool is perfect for active wear as it’s breathable and wicks away moisture. We love the contrast the fiery red pom creates against the cool silver yarn.
Yair Hill
Located in the Scottish Borders, the Yair Hill Forest inspired our yarn choice for this hat. A blend of Autumnal, earthy colours that reminds us of the changing leaves this season. The rust colour yarn that makes up the body of the hat is flecked with highlights of reds, yellows, and blues!
