Make it British Live!
On the 17th & 18th March, Make it British Live will be held in the Business Design Centre in London. This two-day event features UK manufacturers from the textiles industry.
All 200 exhibitors will showcase their talents specialising in areas such as garment manufacturing, pattern-cutting, sampling and production.
Throughout the event, there will be talks and demonstrations from industry experts. The event is also a great opportunity to network with manufacturers & suppliers from around the UK.
Where it all began.
Kate Hills is the founder behind Make it British. She proclaims to be on a ‘one-woman mission to save UK manufacturing‘!
In the 1990’s, Kate was working as an accessories buyer for Marks & Spencer’s. During this time she noticed how the company’s move to overseas production impacted the UK’s manufacturing industry. Many British brands followed in search of cheaper suppliers which subsequently lead to the closure of factories across the UK.
Make it British started life as a blog back in 2011. Now, Kate hosts a weekly podcast featuring guests from across the industry and the Make it British Live event is in it’s 7th year!
Over the years, Kate has supported hundreds of UK manufacturers and helped brands to grow their customer base. Although the UK has lost an abundance of large scale manufacturers in recent years, we still have high quality craftsmanship to be nurtured.
