June Newsletter

Picture of a border terrier lay down in the river tweed.

Hello and welcome to our June Newsletter!  Well, it was the hottest June on record since 1940 but that didn’t stop us knitting!

Here’s our Border Terrier, Ruaridh Dog, looking very happy to cool off in the River Tweed.

Championship Dog Show

We exhibited at the annual Championship dog show in Kelso, showcasing our products in our Wonky tent.

As dog lovers, we really enjoyed this event as we had never seen so many breeds in one place!  It was great to meet the owners and find out that some are now going on to show at Crufts next year.

Our new dog hats sold well at the show. Border Collies and Dalmatians were shopping for their own. We received requests for different breeds and bespoke colours too.

We look forward to seeing them out on walkies, using #wonkywoolies or #hatsforallreasons to share the love on social media.

Kelso Walking Festival

We are delighted to sponsor one of the walks at the Scottish Borders Walking Festival.

Held in Kelso from 2nd – 9th September.

The festival began in 1994 and is hosted in a different location every year. It is a great opportunity to explore the Scottish Borders in a safe, welcoming environment. All of the walks are held in groups with limited spaces. As you can see the walk we have sponsored has already reached capacity but you can still join the waitlist. There are lots of walking routes to consider, have a look at the full list on their website.

We hope you enjoy the event and remember to take your Wonky Woolies hat!

Limitlass

This year we are proud to sponsor Limitlass, a Scottish mountain bike festival designed for women by women.

The event, now in it’s 2nd year, is at Glen Tanar, Aberdeenshire on the 18-20th August.  The founders Anna, Fiona and Katie have a passion for bikes and have built this festival to promote wellness, the outdoors and the female MTB community.

You can purchase a Limitlass beanie hat onsite, which features a branded label.

To find out more about the festival, check out their website.

Knitted tops sample sale!

We are excited to launch our new knitted tops with you!

On Thursday 06th July at 8pm our sale will go live in the shop page on our website listed under ‘Knitted Tops Sample Sale’.

We have knit some one off products and some that are repeatable. Our striped tops are knitted with random colour arrangement, making each one totally unique. We have also used some industry surplus yarns on the handmade items. All items in the sale are ready to ship and we are happy to take commissions with size and colour adjustments.

Here’s a couple of tops included in the sale. We really hope you like what we have been knitting and we look forward to your feedback!

Thank You!

Thank you for taking the time to read our June Newsletter.  I will leave you with an image of my unintentional wardrobe win.  The day I realised I had actually dressed up like a Caithness flag to work on the Caithness flag hats, joy!
