Our August update starts as each morning does, with a nice field walk with Ruaridh Dog. When time seems to be going super quickly, these moments of calm really help me to keep perspective. We often see hares, pheasants and deer close to our house, hence the reason to keep R-dog on the lead. A morning chase does not equal tranquility!
Hope Women
In the Wonky factory we have been working on these new hats for Hope Women.
Hope WMN was created by Hope Technology to support women who ride bikes. Their website includes interesting articles from inspiring women, alongside their list of events and their shop. These super bright hats will be available on the Hope Women website soon!
Wool Blankets
We have also been experimenting with different types of wool and stitch formations to create a blanket.
This one is made with merino lambswool using a moss stitch to provide texture. It works as a shawl, a picnic blanket, as part of your solo adventure pack or you could give it to your dog!
Team Wonky – HIRING!
We are looking for someone with a high level of sewing skills to join our team.
This is a temporary contract, working 2 days per week, to assist in our peak winter season.
The job includes:
- Hand sewing knitted products
- Machine sewing fabric labels
- Linking products (optional)
- Pompom machine
Full training will be provided in-house. Available for immediate start.

We are preparing for some events, here is where you’ll find us!
- Saturday 16th September Pop Up at Seamster Vintage, The Cooperage, Glasgow. Open 10-4pm.
- Saturday 23rd September Country and Food Festival, Philiphaugh Estate, Selkirk. Open 10-4pm.
- Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th November Ford & Etal Christmas Market. Open 10-4pm both days.
- Sunday 10th December Visit Kelso Christmas Market, Town Hall. Open 11-3pm.
We are looking to add more events to our calendar, if you have a recommendation please let us know.
