Welcome to the September update from Wonky HQ. Well, September brought us some pretty spectacular mornings. This misty start was one of my favorites, such beautiful calm tones to begin the day. Here’s a little bit about how our month has gone.
Foraging hat
My chunky wool hat found a new vocation, as my handy berry gatherer! The blackberries were yummy with Greek yogurt and granola for breakfast and I mixed some with apples and pears in a crumble too.
Over the course of the month I accidentally picked up two tiny passengers while foraging. One snail, I placed carefully back in the hedgerow and the other found a new residence in our garden, phew!
Country & Food Festival
Louise and I had a great time at the Country & Food Festival at the Philiphaugh Estate in Selkirk. It was lovely to talk to so many customers about wool and to receive such positive feedback on our collection.
Louise wore a handmade supersoft jumper with vertical stripe detail by Maw Wonky. I wore a blended two colour cropped jumper that I knitted in merino lambswool. We both enjoyed using our vintage flat bed knitting machines to make them.
Our collection of knitted tops are launching on our website this week. Make sure to sign up to our newsletter as I will send an email notification for the launch. As most of the tops are one off pieces, made from industry surplus yarn, they are unrepeatable. However, we are launching a made to order service, where you can choose the colours in your bespoke top!
Seamster Vintage Pop Up
We are excited to be heading to Glasgow this month to run our friends shop, Seamster Vintage, for a three day pop up!
I was upset to cancel the courtyard event in September as I was run down with the lurgy. However, this is a fantastic opportunity to spend more time in Glasgow and create some epic looks with Seamster Vintage clothing and our Wonky knitwear.
The shop is open from 11-5pm daily and I will be there Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October. Seamster Vintage is located at 674, The Cooperage, Unit 1, Pollockshaws Rd, Glasgow, G41 2QE.
