This year our workshop has been in very busy with customers looking for bespoke knitted hats.  Our small team work closely with each customer to develop their design, test the knitting samples and hand finish the product in-house.  Our fantastic team of skilled makers knit each hat individually on flatbed knitting machines, giving their full attention to each piece.  Creating individual custom designs is one of our key strengths as a knitwear business.  This service is available for brands, clubs and individuals all looking for a bespoke product.  Have a look at our custom design hats page to find out a little more.

Hope Technology

Hope Technology are global leaders in the design and manufacture of bike components.  We are very excited to work with this iconic British manufacturer.  From our own small manufacturing workshop in Scotland we are proud to be able to supply them with quality products.  Having taken on board their design requirements, we created the perfect hat to fit their brand.  The Hope Tech logo is very distinctive and their eye catching brand colour is a brilliant bright green.  This green yarn was made especially for Hope Tech by our supplier Yeoman Yarns based in Leicester.  As we ordered a large quantity of yarn, Yeoman were able to develop a dye to match their brand colour perfectly.  Once we had this vital component, we were ready to start knitting.

How many have you made?

Last year we made 1302 hats for the folks from Barnoldswick.  The hats are hugely popular with their customers, sponsored riders and other industry fans.  As a branding exercise, the hats are a great investment as they’re easily spotted at events worldwide.  In fact, each batch of hats has sold out in record time, challenging us to keep up with demand.  We enjoy seeing the reach of the hats, knowing that we made them in our little workshop.  Hope Tech fans have been posting fun images on social media and it’s exciting to see people use our own hashtag (#wonkywoolies) alongside this established brand.  I also love the recent post on the Hope Tech Women Instagram account showing the green hat sitting among rich purple heather.

Where can I buy one?

This year we are looking forward to making more products for Hope Tech, with new designs in the pipeline.  Although we make each hat in our workshop, we don’t sell them directly to the public.  Therefore, as with all brands we manufacture for, the hats are sold exclusively on their own website.  Have a look in the Hope Tech shop to see if you can snap one up before they sell out again!
