Yair pompom hat
This is our Yair pompom hat. A hat inspired by the Yair forest, where we love walking our dog and hitting the bike trails. As the seasons change, we see the spectrum of colours from the forest sunset to the morning frost.
Our Yair pompom hat is a timeless design which we have knit using colours from the Supersoft range of wool from Knoll Yarns. Each hat features a special marled yarn, that we have found along the way. The design splits four colours into block sections, which are mixed together in the felted pompom. In our workshop in Kelso, we knit each Yair hat individually on our hand knitting machine. it takes time, skill and patience to create each hand crafted hat. Once we have knit and hand finished each hat, we wash it to remove the lanolin and soften the wool.
Choose from the fiery Yair sunset, a mix of burnt orange, vibrant green and a wonderful black and gold marl. Or the Yair Frost, using cool blues, lilac and a cream and white marled Shetland wool. The Yair forest is knitted with traditonal woodland hues of dark green and rust with an interesting moss coloured marl.
Choose wool
Wool is a sustainable choice as it is both renewable and biodegradable. It decomposes within a matter of years releasing the nutrients back to the earth. Wool provides incredible insulation while remaining breathable, as it is naturally temperature regulating. The Supersoft range from Knoll Yarns is produced from non-mulesed sources and the dyes conform to European REACH Standards.
Your Yair hat will last you a lifetime and requires minimal care. An occasional warm hand wash followed by drying it flat will refresh and reshape the hat over time.
