British wool socks

Our Wonky wool socks have been a labour of love, designed, knitted and hand finished in our workshop in Kelso, Scotland.  Knitted with British wool, a natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre.  These cosy socks are calf length, they have a fitted heel and feature a cable pattern.  Our wool socks are warm and comfy, giving great all day wear.  Choose from dark navy, warm caramel or our own pink and grey marl.

Laxtons

We have chosen Laxtons Sheepsoft wool for our socks.  This wool is a blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Masham fleece, which provides comfort and durability to the socks.  Laxtons spin the wool in West Yorkshire, achieving the process from fleece to finished yarn in under 50 miles.

British wool

We are proud to be a licenced manufacturer of this British wool product.  As an organisation, British wool collaborates with manufacturers and retailers to raise awareness of the unique qualities wool.  When you see the Shepherds crook logo, you can be sure the wool product has been produced to the highest industry standard.

How to care for your socks

From selecting the yarn through to packaging, our team are passionate about producing quality knitwear made to last.  For best results wash the wool socks by hand at a cool temperature and dry flat.  It is possible to wash them in a cool wool cycle however, the wool felting process will continue which will tighten the sock.  We do not advise putting these wool socks in the tumble dryer.
