Our Border Terrier dog hat commemorates 100 years of this wonderful bread.
As Border Terrier owners, or more likely servants to our Border Terrier, we wanted to create a hat for him. The design is a noble side view of the dog, repeated three times around the head of the hat. The colours of this particular dog is styled on our own Border Terrier, Ruaridh Dog. He has a two tone brown body, black ears and a black beard.
We have knitted the hats in two fibres, durable acrylic yarn and hardy pure wool in our Scottish Borders workshop. The hats are perfect for long walks as the double layer of yarn protects you from the elements. This feature also makes the hats highly durable.
The Border Terrier dog hat is available in bottle green, navy blue or burgundy in acrylic yarn. The pompom uses the base colour mixed with silver yarn to create the two tone effect. These colours are consistent in our range and we are continually knitting stock. This yarn is sourced from Yeoman Yarns in Leicester and is a high grade, durable acrylic.
We also enjoy working with unique colours which we source from various knitting suppliers. Some of the wool we buy is industry surplus yarn, which means anything we knit is a limited supply. A small batch of forest green wool hats are the newest addition to the pack.
Washing instructions:
Acrylic yarn – machine washable at 30 degrees, turn inside out first.
Hardy wool – hand wash in warm water only, do not machine wash. The pompom felts during the initial washing process.
Do not tumble dry either hat.
